Abstract

Empathy and ethical behavior in the care of the human being are important aspects that must take into account every professional who works in health, and especially the physicians who work in the area of care and also in the area of clinical research. Empathy and ethical conduct allows to carry out not only a convenient medical practice, but also enables the physician-patient encounter to be good, productive, satisfying both and that their results produce the good pursued. Therefore, this paper aims to explore the empirical concept of empathy, empathy in patient care and medical ethics, according to the existing literature, grounding the importance of empathic and ethical behavior in medical practice.
