This article is a review of some theoretical scientific articles published in the last decade, which aims to provide an overview of how the breast cancer disease is being conceptualized from a psychological point of view. From a national and international analysis of the problem of this disease, the issue of body image in patients with breast cancer, personality characteristics (which led to the creation of the concept of type C personality) and the quality of life in these patients are deepened. These contributions are part of the theoretical support of the author doctoral thesis -in process-, whose target population are women diagnosed with breast cancer.
