Abstract

A descriptive correlational investigation was made in 49 female teenagers from a children’s home in Chiclayo. The purpose was to know the correlation between resilience factors and suicide risk. Two instruments were used, the Teenage Resilience Scale and the Suicide Risk Scale by Plutchick.
It was found that 51% of teenagers presented an average level of resilience, 43% had a low level of resilience and 6% had a high level of it. As regards suicide risk, 57% of teenagers didn’t have attempted suicide risk and the 43% had attempted suicide risk. In addition, a negative correlation was found between initiative, humor and morality factors with suicide risk. Remaining factors did not show any correlation with suicide risk.
