Effects of a program in change of preferences and hierarchy of values and self concept in universitary students

Abstract

To value the Program, it was necessary to change preferences and hierarchy of values and self - concept, we
employed as pre experimental design a pretest-post-test with one group only, applying the Mujica and Multi-
Dimensional Scale Value Questionnaire and La Rosa & Díaz Loving self -concept in a sample with 216 students
of engineering and architecture of a Private University at Lima.
The relative importance of values in different areas was maintained by participants after developing the program.
Some values improved in its position. Preferences by values changed in specific cases as honesty, quality,
responsibility, freedom and self - esteem.
The program showed effectiveness in global self concept in the affiliation of sociability and accessibility of
social dimension, in state condition interindividual feelings and emotional health and ethic of instrumental
dimension. It was not positive in affiliative sociability, occupational and initiative of emotional dimensions or
instrumental respectively.
