The Hospital Pedagogy is responsible for the education of the sick and hospitalized child, attending the patient child so that it is not delayed in their personal development or learning. In Peru, we have a total of 390 EsSalud hospitals, where a large percentage of children and adolescents of school age are admitted day by day to be cared for in various specialties. Many of them must be hospitalized for treatment, but nevertheless the large percentage of this population, do not receive formal education during their stay in health care hospitals.
The Ministry of Education (Minedu) this year 2017, has implemented a pilot plan since February, to provide direct pedagogical assistance, helping to continue their studies to children and adolescents, and thus prevent them from losing the year during the hospitalization period, so that Peruvian hospitalized children progressively have access to education in health centers throughout the country.
