Translators face recurring problems in this kind of translation, which are different from those related to live-action films due to their distinct features, which involve their stories, narrative style, and target audience. For this reason, this article aims to analyze the strategies used in animated television series and films found in articles published from 2017 to 2023. This research used a qualitative approach with a literary review method. Its sample consisted of nineteen articles: eleven written in English and eight in Spanish. The technique used was data collection with content analysis. We concluded that 58% of these articles were in English and 42% in Spanish. 90% of them affirm cultural references are the main problem and 10% mention linguistic problems. Likewise, 50% of these articles state the most frequently used strategies are adaptation and omission; 35% of them show the use of literal translation or substitution as the most commonly employed technique. Finally, 15% mention the use of domestication and foreignization.
