Quality of working life and organizational citizenship behavior in private organizations in Peru

The objective of this study is to determine the relationship between the quality of working life and the behavior of organizational citizenship. The study applied a quantitative, escriptive and correlational approach, its design is non-experimental and transversal. For this purpose, two duly reliable and valid instruments were applied to a sample of 435 professionals from different specialties who work in public and private organizations in Lima and the interior of Peru and who were studying postgraduate studies at several universities. The results obtained indicate that there is significant and positive statistical evidence of association between quality of working life and organizational citizenship behavior. An analysis of these variables to determine the differences when intervening sociodemographic and organizational variables showed that there are differences of opinion regarding the quality of working life between employees belonging to public organizations and those employees of private organizations; however, no differences of opinion were found on organizational citizenship behavior.
